Mount Venus Nursery - Garden Show

Transition Garden has been designed, by Oliver&Liath Schurmann, the owners of The Mount Venus Nursery. I had the pleasure to work for the German couple that has settled in Ireland. Learned a lot from them about the cultivating of plants and my appreciation for good garden design.

Transition Garden was designed for Bloom Festival in Dublin. Year by year the couple wins the gold medal during the garden festival. I do remember them saying that in Germany they would be average where in Ireland due to the smaller population is much easier to become popular. Luckily their natural, minimalistic, yet laborious style has been appreciated by the large Irish crowd. Have to mention the craft in Ireland is on a high standard. Despite the small population of the country the taste for good quality design is highly appreciated ...

We created an atmosphere, an atmosphere where the eye travels slowly, wanders through the garden, doesn’t really know where to stop looking. Once we achieve that we feel at home in the garden ... says Oliver Schurmann the creator of the garden.
