Dublin Open House Festival - Family house
Is organised yearly by the Irish Architecture Foundation. The festival is part of the Open House Worldwide international network of 50 organisations hosting festivals and conversations about architecture, design and cities across the globe from across the world. Over the years I would regularly take part in it. In my view the most successful festival in Dublin. Every year there is a range of private and public buildings, houses to view. The architect or the owner of the property involved in the project gives a tour and explains various complications, solutions, ideas and inspirations that took part in creating the space.
I have to admit I can not remember the exact details of the tour ... It has been a good few years ago. The landlady was very pleasant, had an English accent and was the creative spirit of the house.
Very unique brass coated kitchen surface produces a golden radiance across the whole room
The house, as the owner said, was meant to be placed for rent via the Airbnb website
Marble kitchen at the first floor of the house
The walls are left with the previous paints which reveal the history of the place
All pieces in the house have been chosen carefully to make a coherent style
Nearly all chairs are different, yet they find their place with a great personality
